Leimo Hair Regrowth - Hot or Cold Water - Which Is Better For Your Hair?

Some like it hot - shower, that is. Indeed, when talking about our hair washing routine, many of us prefer the use of hot water to cold water.
But the real question lies on whether which between the two - a hot shower and a cold shower - is really better for the health of our tresses?
So, today, we come up with this article to help you address this very important hair care issue. We aim to help you in your choice on what type of water is best for achieving shinier and healthier hair strands, as well as preventing dry, dull, and lifeless strands.
Everyone's hair is different.
A proper hair care routine varies from one person to another since we each have a different hair type and scalp condition. However, there are certain rules or guidelines on proper hair washing which you can follow in order to prevent dry, dull, and lifeless strands.
Rule 1: Use hot water to open the pores.
You should choose the most comfortable hot water temperature while hair washing. Using warm water can open up the pores, making it the best choice for removing and cleaning oil build-up, dirt, and grime off the scalp.
After cleaning your hair strands, make sure to close the pores. Why? This is because when the cuticles and pores are open, they are more susceptible to other external factors (dirt, grime, and residue) that can damage the health of the scalp and the hair follicles.
Open skin pores may expose the hair follicles to bacteria, dirt, and grime which cause unwanted reactions like inflammation, irritation, and itchiness of the scalp.
Rule 2: Use cold water to close the hair cuticles.
What cold water does is that it closes the cuticles or the pores, preventing dirt, debris, and bacteria from easily accumulating within the scalp. More than that, a closed cuticle also reduces the chances of the hair from becoming oily because the build-up of sebum is controlled.
That being said, after shampooing and applying your conditioner, you need to rinse your hair with cold water to lock in the moisture. Using cold water as your last rinse will make a big difference in the quality of your locks since it promotes shinier, softer, and smoother strands.
Bottom Line
Using hot water on a daily basis is not recommended since too much heat can strip away the natural oil in the scalp, making the hair dry, dull, and brittle. Hence, to make sure that you can prevent the onset of hair breakage and split-ends, use lukewarm to warm water temperature every other day. Then, never forget to use cold water as your last hair rinse in order to achieve shinier and healthier hair strands.
